Hi! I'm Ashley Niedringhaus, and I'm an ASME-nominated magazine writer with an eye for crafting the perfect gift guide, mastering an international destination guide and penchant for big cities. For now Bangkok, Thailand is home, and while my peregrinations have taken me across Asia since 2014, I've called New York City, Paris and Ahmedabad, India home for both long and short periods of time.
I've worn the hats of a full-time staffer and writer-for-hire for the print and online publications of Travel+Leisure (where I am also the Bangkok local expert), Elite Traveler, Michelin Guide Bangkok, Lonely Planet, Food and Wine, Beyond the St. Regis magazine, Real Simple, Good Housekeeping, Redbook, Travel+Leisure Southeast Asia, Marie Claire, Teen Vogue and more. I've been nationally syndicated in Time, The Huffington Post, Country Living and Yahoo. And thanks to my Real Simple days writing the New Uses for Old Things column, I am a hoarder of hotel shower caps and can almost instantly chill wine.
My specialty is crafting bespoke city guides for luxury brands, and I've developed itineraries for Travel+Leisure, Elite Traveler, The St. Regis Hotels, Conrad Hotels and Travel+Leisure Southeast Asia.
Currently, I am an editor at Portier, a tech startup that provides 4G-enabled cell phones to 5-star hotels across the globe. Each phone is packed with a custom City Guide and an updated collection of the day's best events called Radar. I am the top editor for the City Guides and Radar sections in Europe and Asia, and oversee local staffers in each destination.
